Mildred the Crocklebog feels that swimming about in the Scaaaaary Lake is sometimes very hard work. So she is delighted about the nearby Snack Shack lurking on the Jetty, where you can get a locally made refreshing ice-cream or a nice drink to perk you up on a sunny day.

When Swampy and his friends go camping they always build dens from bits of wood lying in the forest. They have left lots of these branches and twigs for you and your family to have a go too. How many rooms will your den have? Don't forget to take a picture and send it to us!

This is where the story comes alive - and YOU can be part of it! There are daily storytelling sessions (weather permitting, of course!) with the roles of Swampy, The Wood Witch, the BeWILDerbats and many more characters that live in our woods up for grabs.

On the days where there's lots going on in BeWILDerwood, the Twiggles make sure that everybody gets to have some scrummy food and drinks whilst they're watching the storytelling. So they have built the Cosy Cabin - and just around the corner from here, you can get your face painted by our soopa doopa award winning face painter - wow wee! (There is a teeny charge for the face painting but it all goes to our favourite charity, Autism Anglia)

The smallest Boggles or Twiggles can sometimes feel it is a bit busy if lots of boys and girls have come to play. So Hazel, the Wood Witch, has made sure that they can come to Toddlewood Valley or Toddlewood on the Hill to play on slides that are just the right size. There are Twiggle houses you can go in and lots of other stuff too. Unless you are a Boggle or Twiggle, you have to be 5 or under to get in.

Maximum age 5 years old.

What if there were a really long, rickety bridge high, high up in the trees? Wouldn't it be worse if there weren't all the bits of the bridge left? And what if you had to run across it to escape the terrifying BeWILDerbats, just like Swampy did? You'll have to climb up there first!

P.S. To nervous parents: it's not really dangerous (we hope!) and you're expected to join in and brave the Broken Bridge too!

Can you find out where the Thornyclod Spider lives in the heart of its maze? Don't get lost in the Thornyclod's lair though, or you might be made into marshmallows (made from real marsh). Luckily there's a cool rope bridge to get out quickly!

All Twiggles know what to do with long wires stretching to the ground. You get a forked twig and you slide all the way down them shouting "Weeeeeeee!" all the way. Have a go.

P.S. You don't have to bring your own twig as the Twiggles have supplied them already. Dads should definitely try these out too.

Minimum Height 105cm

Weight restriction 16 Stone (100kg)

What lurks in the middle of the Scaaaaary Lake? Why are there great spouts of water splashing everyone who goes there? Could Mildred the Crocklebog be at the bottom of all this? Take a boat trip to the lake from BeWILDerboat Junction and find out yourself.

Someone or something is lurking in the Scaaaaary Lake. There have been reports of a great thorny green monster frightening all the coots and ducks. Some of the Boggles also say that they have seen great fountains of water coming out of the lake. Could it be the Great Sludge Vortex or possibly a friendly vegetarian Crocklebog? Find out by getting a boat at BeWILDerboat Junction.

Winding through the marshes from the Long Lagoon to the woods, right through the pongy marshes, is a trail full of magic and charm. The Treacherous Trail is the alternative route to the gentle boat ride into the heart of BeWILDerwood. You can spot the Boggle Village and some Twiggle doors dotted about on your way. Just don't take a wrong turn and wind up in the Black Marshes or you might need rescuing by the Wood Witch.

Twiggles live high among the branches in the trees of BeWILDerwood. If you look up as you wander around BeWILDerwood, you will see hints of Twiggle life. You will have to look carefully if you want to spot a Twiggle. They can be very quick and agile, so before you know it they've vanished! You may hear the odd giggle as the wind rustles through the trees. Then you'll know they're somewhere not too far away.

In the deepest, darkest, pongiest marshes flows a gloomy sort of waterway leading to a spooky sort of place. Dare to travel the Dismal Dyke in a bright pink boat (or purple or green!) from BeWILDerboat Junction.

FarTree

If you are a Thornyclod Spider, finding shoes for all eight of your feet can be very difficult. Not many people buy their shoes in eights, you know. The Thornyclod has very sensibly decided that wearing different shoes is a better idea and it gets replacement shoes from the FarTree, where everybody in the woods hangs up any spare footwear they have found or don't need any more. Are any of your shoes up there?

When the Twiggles found out that there were going to be humans about they tried to invite them in to their houses but unfortunately no-one could quite fit through their doors. So they have built a whole village up in the trees where everyone can meet up and chat. Be careful though; one of the houses might belong to the Wood Witch.

Minimum height 92cm (for the slides)

Sometimes the best way to get around BeWILDerwood is to find a long hollowed out branch, get in it and just slide to the bottom. But are you brave enough to have a go on these huge slides? It took Swampy quite a few deep breaths before he tried and even then he went head first and backwards (which is not a good idea)!

It is well known that the Twiggles give the very best parties in all of BeWILDerwood. If you have a birthday or you just feel like having some friends to tea, you can book the Yummy Yurts for a bit of a knees-up. There's a small one for less than 16 people but this one, the BIG one, is for up to 20 people, wow wee! The Twiggles are sure that everyone who takes part in a BeWILDerwood party will leave with very full tummies and big smiley faces. Leaflette has hand-painted the tables (she a very creative Twiggle!) and there are Twigglish decorations to make the setting for your party the most magical ever.

Have a look at what we can offer you for a very special birthday.

At the far end of BeWILDerwood, there is a smell of delicious BeWILD Bangers cooking away in the woods. The Munch Bar is the place to find all kinds of healthy food to recharge your batteries if you have been running around having too much fun. It's scrummy and mostly homemade, locally sourced and, where possible, organic. There's also ice-cream (it's really good ice-cream too!) and chocolate brownies and tons of other stuff. In fact, the Munch Bar sells lots of yummy stuff for all sorts of tummies (we try to cater for most allergies where we can). There are lots of places to sit down and enjoy eating it, too!

Leaflette's Lawn

A little bit of greenery tucked away in a far corner of BeWILDerwood, just the perfect spot for polishing off your own picnic. Sneak past the Big Hat and you'll find this lovely bit of lawn to rest your tired feet and fill your boots with all the yummy food you have brought with you (although we don't recommend actually filling your boots as you'll need them to run around in!)

The Big Hat

A giant hiding place with a pointy top that's the perfect place to rest tired feet on a splishy, splashy rainy day. This is where we hold lots of our craft-making activities on special event days. If you look up into the pointy bit you may see some butterflies fluttering around, how lovely!

The smallest Boggles or Twiggles can sometimes feel it is a bit busy if lots of boys and girls come to play. So Hazel, the Wood Witch, has made sure that they can come to Toddlewood on the Hill or Toddlewood Valley to play on slides that are just the right size.

Toddlewood on the Hill also has a mini Wobbly Wire (with a little seat in it, to be extra comfortable and safe), mini treehouses for the tiniest of Boggles and Twiggles to explore and even a sandpit to build your own Twiggle turrets. There's a little chill-out area underneath Sticklenose's hat so that your little ones (and Mummy or Daddy) can have a little break from it all to recharge your legs for more excitement and exploration.

Maximum age 5 years old.

Catch one of our BeWILDerBoats from BeWILDerBoat Junction and journey beyond the Dismal Dyke to reach the Scaaaaary Lake and see what's lurking there..... Pushchairs are welcome on our boats so everyone can enjoy a peaceful (but perhaps somewhat scary!) boat ride into the park.

If you ask nicely, the boatmen will tell you tales of the characters that live in our magical woods...

Have you read the tales about the creatures that live in the woods? The BeWILDerwood series of books (written by our very own Tom Blofeld) are on sale here along with all kinds of very weird and wonderful stuff to remind you of your trip to BeWILDerwood. There are mugs, t-shirts, fridge magnets, postcards, soft toys and lots of yummy things to eat. There is bound to be something just for you if you look hard enough. We introduce new things all the time so if you come back you're likely to see something new!

You can buy some of our most special BeWILDerwood bits and bobs online too!

There are boats in the Long Lagoon to take everybody to the woods. These aren't just ordinary boats, they are coloured pink, purple and lime green just the same as Twiggles paint their own craft (their 3 favourite colours!). Our boats are also electric so they don't do any harm to the lovely marshes around them. Be prepared for a scary trip though.  You'll have to travel through the Dismal Dyke to the Scaaaaary Lake and who knows what might be lurking there!

Tricky Tunnels

This is the best place to test your climbing and balancing skills. Wind your way along the walkways through the trees, clamber through the tunnels and then challenge yourself to keep your feet off the ground and get back to the beginning! Amongst other exciting things to climb, there's a zip wire and a purposefully pink wall, but you musn't touch the ground!

Boggle village

The Boggle village is deep in the marshes, right next to the pongy ponds where the Boggles do their fishing. All the houses are built up in the bulrushes and they're joined up by a maze of platforms and walkways. From time to time you may spot some washing hanging out and some lovely smells of home-cooked food floating across the marshes. If you listen carefully, you may even hear the sound of Swampy's Mum singing as she cooks him his supper.

Bat Stop

The bat stop is a fabulous extension to our wonderful Bizarre Bazaar, so on really busy days you can buy books and mugs and t-shirts and all sorts of wonderous BeWILDerwood goodies from here. You may even spot Tom Blofeld doing some book signing once in a while here, so have your BeWILDerwood books at the ready... It's also got some twinkly lights in the roof, oooh how lovely!
